Please join us on Wednesday, February 7 from 10 a.m. – noon. We will have an instructor here from Goodwill teaching a free Basic Computer Class. Looking for a job? We will also have WorkForce here at the same time to help out with Employment Assistance. They can assist with creating a resume and answer any of your computer questions.

Make 2018 a year of giving your time and making a difference in our community. On Wednesday, February 14 we will recognize those who help make the Community Center thrive and provide information on opportunities for others to share their energy and talents. There will be refreshments – stay tuned for time and details.

The Community Center is beginning a new monthly presentation program entitled, “Wahkiakum Outdoors.” This new educational venture will focus on Wahkiakum area natural resources (birds, fish, plants, etc.) and associated uses (beekeeping, gardening, recreation, etc.) Our county is blessed with abundant opportunities to enjoy the surrounding environs. Come to the Wahkiakum Community Center in Cathlamet on the third Wednesday of each month to learn about local plants and animals which invite aesthetic observation, exercise, or edible delights.

The first of the Wahkiakum Outdoors presentations with be on Wednesday, February 21 from 2-4 p.m. The presenter, Andrew Emlen, will be focused on the two species of pelicans which inhabit the Lower Columbia River region. Andrew is a well-known birding expert in the local region and is a river kayaking guide.

This Friday’s movie is Rated R. It is a story about a small town Texas sheriff who is living in the shadow of his legendary father that prods an investigation no one wants after his father's bones are discovered. Various side-plots and well developed characters line this interesting drama. The movie starts at 7 p.m., and popcorn is free. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks.
