Sheriff's Report, July 12, 2018

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 2 — 5:02 p.m. A driver was cited for driving with a suspended license. 5:03 p.m. A Deep River resident had video evidence of a trespasser. 10 p.m. A neighbor reported a possible burglary in progress at a Puget Island home. Deputies responded.

July 3 — 10:44 a.m. The fuel lines had been cut and gas was missing from a Town of Cathlamet truck. 12:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who may have had a stroke. 1:28 p.m. A deputy spoke with a Deep River resident who had found footage of a trespasser on security cameras. According to the video, the trespasser was on her property during the early morning hours when she was returning home. 5:15 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at a Cathlamet residence. 7:57 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an ailing Grays River resident. 9:18 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported hearing an argument and shots fired. A deputy spoke with neighbors who had been setting off fireworks. The neighbors admitted that they had been loud and said they would try to stop yelling. 10:17 p.m. A deputy attempted but ultimately failed to locate an injured deer that had been struck by a vehicle on a Puget Island road. 10:22 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious car parked in the Elochoman Valley. A deputy investigated and found someone sleeping in the car. 10:41 p.m. The Grays River Fire Department, the Grays River ambulance, and a deputy responded to a truck fire in Grays River. An individual was taken into custody. 11:42 p.m. A motorist reported an aggressive driver on SR 4.


July 4 — 10:56 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle with a flat tire had stopped on a tight corner of SR 4 on the west side of KM. 1:43 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 2:24 p.m. A motorist was cited for driving with a suspended license. 6:08 p.m. A dog was reported missing in the Elochoman Valley. 8:12 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a brush fire started by fireworks at Hornstra Beach. 9:02 p.m. A motorist reported that a vehicle had run the red light at Stella.


July 5 — 12:28 a.m. People were still lighting fireworks and partying in the Rosedale area. 10:22 p.m. A Cathlamet resident complained about fireworks.


July 6 — 12:28 p.m. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a two car accident in a Rosedale parking lot. 8:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. 11:09 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the Puget Island bridge. It turned out to be a shuttle for the bridge.

July 7 — 2:56 p.m. A power outage was reported in the Deep River area. The PUD responded and restored power. 5:15 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who believed she was having a heart attack. 9:50 p.m. A caller reported that his vehicle had been stolen. It turned out to be a misunderstanding. 10:01 p.m. A caller reported that neighbors were setting off fireworks in the Grays River area. 10:03 p.m. A caller reported that someone was setting off fireworks from Coffee Pot Island.

July 8 — 12:03 a.m. A caller reported a loud party in the Alger Creek area. 10:51 a.m. Motorcyclists were seen driving recklessly in the Skamokawa area. 11:26 a.m. A caller reported that neighbors were speeding on a Rosedale road. 4:35 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a possible brush fire in the Beaver Creek area. They were unable to locate the smoke that had been reported. 8:46 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4.
