The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

The fourth annual Wahkiakum Warriors & Widows Salmon Derby will be held Aug 29 and 30 with a welcome salmon dinner at the Elochoman Marina. Organizers want to provide a unique Northwest experience for the Warriors & Widows from the Warrior Transition Battalion at Madigan Army Medical Center Joint Base Lewis McCord.

This year 33 soldiers and three Gold Star families along with 21 boats and skippers have donated their time, boats, equipment and knowledge of the Columbia River Salmon fishing to make this derby a success.
