I was informed by the assessor they could come on my property whenever they wished and indicated they would without my permission. Gladys V. Spooner, 91, lifelong Wahkiakum resident, died April 7, 2018 at the Hospice Care Center in Longview. She was born November 28, 1926 on Puget Island to Lindor and Albertina (Svenson) Wegdahl. She is the last of four children. Gladys attended school on Puget Island and at Wahkiakum High School. She married John H. Wright and they had four children, later divorcing. On June 22, 1967 Gladys and David Spooner were married and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Verena "Frana" Nepsund, 94, longtime Cathlamet resident, died March 15, 2018 at Hospice Care Center in Longview. Frana was born to Hans and Hilda Fluckiger on January 23, 1924 in Hustisford, WI.
