November 12, 2009 George R. Haataia George Robert Haataia died October 11, 2009 in Olympia, aged 71. He was born July 5, 1938 to George and Miriam Haataia in Cathlamet and graduated from Naselle High School in 1956. He was a respected survey engineer for King County and worked throughout Washington. He is survived by daughter Rachel and her husband Stephen; brothers Gilbert of Naselle and Marvin of Battle Ground; and sister Darlene of Kelso.
