The Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center will be open for tours Thursday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The Center is located on Main St., and is the oldest house in Cathlamet and Wahkiakum County having been built in the late 1860's. A Snohomish County angler has set a new state record for the biggest largemouth bass caught in state waters, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) confirmed August 12. Bill Evans of Bothell caught the monster bass Aug. 8 in Lake Bosworth in Snohomish County while fishing with a Strike King 5-inch Shim-E-Stick, wacky-rigged on a 1/0 hook. Fall chinook salmon passage at Bonneville Dam is within expectations, but catch of the fish is lagging in the popular Buoy 10 fishery for recreational anglers.
