Ten local residents have all earned non-profit management certificates following a seven class course.
Nadine Aldinger, Judith Brawn, Paula Jean Carlson, Janet Cimino, Bernadette Goodroe, Mary Holmes, Kathleen Morgain, Faith Penttila, Anita Raistakka, and Laurel Yost all gained their certificates from the Strategic Leadership Institute at Seattle. Average attendance at the classes was 25 with many coming from Longview, Naselle, and South Bend/Raymond areas.
"It was a great group and I'm very proud of the work they did. All of them deserve congratulations for taking the time to learn about the non-profit sector where laws and opportunities are different from for-profit businesses and the public tax based government," said Karen Bertroch, an instructor at the Institute.
" Nonprofits do the non-mandated work government is not required to do and often reflects the moral character of our communities."
