No better place--The Fairgrounds packed people in from far and wide for last weekend's Dollars for Scholars event. Nearly 200 show cars graced the grounds while hundreds of participants crowded the grandstand for the Fishing Derby trophy presentations and a live auction. Large events? Hold them here!
How 'bout you?--August 16, 17 and 18 will be the time to show off your talent: painting, photography, quilting, canning, garden flowers and vegetables. Share your interests: do you spin, knit or weave? Could you explain genealogy for beginners? You could win a ribbon for a collection your friends have admired.
Premium books--Time is ticking, get your ads in. You don't need camera ready art or copy. The experts at The Eagle will do it all for you. These pages are referred to over and over again in Fair season, so this is a great place for your ad! What is a premium book, you say? This is the book with all the answers. What to enter, how to enter, when to submit the entries. Coming soon!
Leadership Intern wanted--We're looking for a high school student to devote two weeks to gaining event planning experience. Take in exhibits, assist vendors and write publicity copy.
Food and entertainment--The members of the Two Islands Farm Market and the Wahkiakum Food and Farm Network are already planning yummy locally produced treats. Grangers will be firing up their grill. A Mexican booth, pronto pups and more are in the works. Save room for dessert as Friday night will feature Chicago style blues from Olympia's Dented Trucks.
