Cathlamet's Bald Eagle Daze Festival will be “Celebrating a Century” in honor of the Town of Cathlamet’s 100th anniversary of incorporation and the Chamber’s 100th anniversary. The festival will run Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, July 20-22.

Jennifer A. Johnson, executive director of the Wahkiakum County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Information Center, said this week that organizers are seeking parade entries and vendors for the Saturday events. People wishing to reserve a street fair booth should contact Johnson at the chamber office, 795-9996.

The Saturday parade starts at 11 a.m.; the theme is, "Celebrating a Century." Applications are available via e-mail, wchamber@cni.net, or for pick-up at the chamber offices. Applications must be turned in July 14, one week before the parade.

Johnson said the entertainment schedule is coming together.

"Friday night starts out with a live music show at the marina with a band visiting from the Seattle area called Voodoo Highway," she said. "We are excited to have some new grooves to dance to while we enjoy the food of Hai Ying's and the beer garden, 21 and over of course. Music will go from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Voodoo Highway plays a variety of rock and roll music, ballads and lots of old favorites."

The Saturday schedule includes the parade and street fair, lasting until 5 p.m. Johnson says there will be lots of new kid's area activities, bounce houses, old fashioned pictures and more. Saturday evening will include another beer garden and live music from the Skamokawa Festival Orchestra from 6:30-9 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.
