Clatsop county planners addressing Bradwood LNG

June 21, 2007

On July 10, the Clatsop County Planning Commission will hold hearings to begin the process of determining their recommendation to Clatsop County commissioners as to whether needed zoning and comprehensive plan changes should be made to accommodate NorthernStar's proposal to develop Bradwood into an LNG terminal.

Bradwood, less than half a mile from Puget Island residences is not currently zoned for this type of industrial development.

Wahkiakum Friends of the River are urging concerned residents to attend the July 10 meeting, wearing red shirts or No LNG buttons to express their position.

The hearing is set to begin at 6 p.m. at Astoria High School.

WFOR is planning a meeting on June 21 for any who might be interested in attending the hearing and testifying.

More information will be available on WFOR's website, http://www.noLNG.wah-kiakum.org.
