Family Center activities will keep kids busy

St. James Family Center has planned summer activities for all ages.

Field trips to the Kelso Spray Park and Triangle Bowl are in the works for the childcare and after school care programs, which raised the money for the trips. They have also planned weekly walks to the City Park on Fridays for activities such as flag football. All programs will be working in the garden and will be able to take home some of the vegetables it produces, donated by Stockhouses Farm.

The Nationally Accredited After School Care Program has planned additional activities. Children ages 5-12 or those currently enrolled in kindergarten may participate. On Mondays and Tuesdays, children will work on projects and crafts they will be able to enter into the county fair in August. Wednesdays will be devoted to cooking projects, and Thursdays to science experiments. If the program has enough participants, an open daily swim will be held as long as the weather permits.
