The Wahkiakum Lady Mule fastpitch team hosted the Adna Pirates on a beautiful Saturday afternoon this past weekend, but unfortunately for Mule fans, the visiting Pirates were too much muscle for the Lady Mules.

After suffering an 18-0 pounding in the shortened opener, the Lady Mules fought hard to hang with the Pirates in Game 2, and despite going into the final frame trailing by a score of 4-3, the Pirates outlasted the Lady Mules 10-3 in the nightcap, courtesy of six seventh-inning errors.

Sam Boyce tallied a home run for the Lady Mules in Game 2.

The Lady Mules also went to Toutle Lake on April 12 and regrettably failed to crack the stat sheets in the opener as the Ducks’ pitcher tossed a five-inning perfect game in an 11-0 victory. The Ducks also took Game 2 in five innings by a score of 13-2, with Boyce recording another home run and Haylee Budd a three-bagger.

The Lady Mules hit the road for Morton-White Pass today (Thursday), weather permitting.
