The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Wahkiakum Helping Hand President Shane Skinner signed the lease for Erickson Park on October 7.

Helping Hand, a nonprofit corporation, plans to place a portable building in a section of Erickson Park to serve as a food bank. According to a report from Helping Hand, grants, matching funds and donations will finance the project. The group is still working out details but hopes to have the foundation in place next year.

Members of the board of directors are Skinner, Vice President Ben Moore, Treasurer Mary Dasher, Secretary Fred Johnson, and member Rollie Armstrong.
