Plagued by errors, the Wahkiakum Lady Mule softball team lost two games in a double header at home against Pe Ell last week.
“It wasn’t pretty,” Coach Cindy Fudge admitted.
The Mules lost the first game 24-0 with Tori Wegdahl at the mound and Sam Boyce behind home plate. The second game ended with a 24-2 loss.
“There were a few bright moments in game two,” Fudge said. “Boyce hit a triple and Wegdahl hit well, too. Makinzi Anderson did a great job behind the plate.”
“Even though we were out of sync,” she continued, “with two starting infielders out, the girls never gave up. They cheered each other on and never hung their heads. This year is a learning year and they are willing to learn. I’m really proud of them.”
