On Saturday, Jenelle Olsen and Todd Succee of Lake Stevens celebrated Phoenix's Best in Field win at the final 2014 lure coursing field tests and trials at the Howard and Judy Brawn's Misty Rivers Plantation on Puget Island. The event was only for AKC registered sighthounds and was sponsored by the Willamette Valley Basenji Club.

Phoenix, a Pharaoh Hound, won Best in Breed after chasing an artificial bunny around a 1,500 yard course against other Pharaoh Hounds, before competing

against other sighthounds and winning Best in Field.

"Pharaoh Hounds are much like cats," Olsen said. "They like to groom and they are very independent. Todd and I have six of them now. We got our first one seven years ago and started racing them five years ago. They love it and they sleep really well after."

Pictured behind Phoenix are, l-r, Olsen, Succee, judges Joel Brody and Susie Wauro.
