Mini Mules score big win

The Wahkiakum Youth Football team won their home game 20-0 against Kelso's NW Auto team, on Saturday at Wahkiakum High School.

In the first half, Gabe Moon scored on a three yard quarterback keeper to the right for a touchdown to go up 6-0.

In the third quarter, Jake Leitz scored the Mini-Mules second touchdown with a six yard sweep to the right to put the team up 12-0.

In the beginning of the fourth, Leitz threw a halfback pass back to Moon. Moon scampered 20 yards on the play for the team's final touchdown. Braxton Johns kicked the two-point extra point conversion to give the Mini Mules the 20-0 lead.

During the game, Johns and Tristan Collupy both recovered fumbles and Moon had an interception. Defensively the entire team held NW Auto to only a handful of first downs, with Ashden Neimeyer leading in tackles.
