Retired county engineer and Public Works Director Pete Ringen returned to the courthouse Tuesday. Kathleen Davis, Washington State Department of Transportation local programs director, and Daniel Mathis, Federal Highways Administration division administrator, presented him and the county the 2015 Directors Award for excellence for the construction of the new ferry Oscar B. Ringen and Commissioner Blair Brady credited Davis and federal congressional and highway officials with coming up with the funding needed for the new ferry.
