The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Last week's story about the Port District 2 commission meeting incorrectly stated that one of the ice machines would be located in Deep River. Marine Resources Committee member Carrie Backman contacted The Eagle to say that a steering committee of Wahkiakum County commercial fishermen will make decisions about the location of ice machines for use by fishermen.

Backman added that the Wahkiakum County MRC is now taking applications for this steering committee. The steering committee will decide the design of the mobile processing units and ice machines, and where they would best be sited. Interested fishermen may contact the Wahkiakum County MRC for more information on the project and the steering committee, at 360-795-3278.
