April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

April 14, 2016

Join The Children’s Justice & Advocacy Center (CJAC) Saturday, April 16 at noon at the Longview Public Library. CJAC will plant a pinwheel garden in front of the Longview Library to help raise awareness about child abuse prevention. The pinwheel is the national symbol of child abuse prevention and is used to represent the innocence and joyfulness of childhood.

April will be decreed as Child Abuse Prevention Month locally via official proclamation at the Cowlitz County Commissions’ Office on Tuesday, April 19. Cowlitz County joins other communities across the nation in this important awareness campaign and event.

The Children’s Justice & Advocacy Center (CJAC) is a child-centered facility with programs that serve Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties. CJAC provides children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse with a coordinated community approach to the investigation and treatment of abuse that promotes their safety, healing, and well-being. For more information, visit CJAC at http://www.cowlitzcountycjac.com or call 360-353-3933.
