Sheriff's Report, May 5, 2016

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 25 — 9:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 12:22 p.m. The mental health department requested a deputy to assist with an evaluation at a Rosedale residence. 7 p.m. Authorities in Skamania County were looking for two missing people and asked for assistance. The sheriff’s office informed them that they were unable to send anyone. 7:21 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that a juvenile had threatened suicide.

April 26 — 11:23 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that he was missing livestock. 3:50 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading east on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 4:44 p.m. A caller reported a speeding driver on a Puget Island road.

April 27 — 2:07 p.m. A caller reported that her debit card had been used fraudulently. 2:16 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a spring had been vandalized. 3:50 p.m. The mental health department asked for help with a mental health evaluation at a Rosedale home. 4:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Rosedale resident to the hospital. 5:16 p.m. A phone was found. The owner was located.

April 28 — 8:33 a.m. A caller was concerned about an individual with dementia who was driving to Portland. 8:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Puget Island resident to the hospital. 11:06 a.m. A caller reported that he had struck a deer on an Elochoman Valley road. 12:38 p.m. The Grays River Fire Department responded to a power outage in the Rosburg area. The PUD was notified. 1 p.m. A caller reported that he had been chased by a dog while bicycling on Puget Island. 1:36 p.m. A caller reported that studded tires had not been removed from a vehicle in Cathlamet. 2:27 p.m. The Skamokawa ambulance aided an ailing Skamokawa resident. 2:38 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a car had been stolen. 4:34 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver headed west on SR 4 near Flandersville. 5:35 p.m. A caller reported that a cell phone had been stolen from the food pantry in Rosburg. 8:24 p.m. A caller reported hearing a very loud noise that shook his house on Puget Island. 9:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having chest pain.

April 29 — 5:18 a.m. A caller was concerned after seeing someone in a Cathlamet business at an unusual hour. 12:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 12:39 p.m. A caller reported that a Grays River resident had died. The coroner was notified. 1:21 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that two individuals had come to her door unsolicited that morning looking for yard work. The caller noticed that they did not have tools. 2:51 p.m. A caller reported that items had gone missing from a home that was currently uninhabited in Skamokawa. 4:59 p.m. A caller reported that an individual had pulled someone over using the volunteer firefighter lights on his vehicle. Two more witnesses reported seeing the individual use his emergency lights in a similar manner. The individual denied using his lights illegally. He was told not to use his lights at all. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported that a child had been abused. 6:04 p.m. A caller reported an aggressive driver heading west on SR 4 near County Line Park. The motorist was driving at high speeds and passing people. The driver was stopped by a deputy. 11:56 p.m. A Cathlamet resident asked for a deputy to check on his house while he was on vacation.

April 30 — 5:43 a.m. A caller reported that an individual had shown up at a Cathlamet residence per a request from the sheriff’s office. 9:37 a.m. A caller reported that people had shown up at a Deep River home while he was moving out. He called later to report that he had spoken with the landowner and found out that they were planning to move there. 9:48 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a confused Cathlamet resident. 10:22 a.m. A Cathlamet resident requested assistance after getting locked out of her apartment. 2:01 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that there was dirty water coming from the tap. The public works department was notified. 5:57 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a missing dog. 6:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident. 6:48 p.m. A caller reported that juveniles were speeding on a Puget Island road.

May 1 — 12:34 a.m. A caller reported a motor home in Grays River in a no camping area. A deputy contacted the campers and asked them to leave. 1:18 a.m. A deputy spoke with an individual walking on SR 4 in the Elochoman area before returning the individual to his home in Skamokawa. 2:38 a.m. A deputy checked a building in Cathlamet after an alarm was activated. 7:37 a.m. A caller reported that an individual was visiting a Cathlamet residence with a pit bull. 3:14 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 3:52 p.m. A caller reported a slow driver holding up traffic on SR 4 near County Line Park. 5:55 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that someone had removed the bolts from the drive shaft on his vehicle. 6:47 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop near County Line Park. 10:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having trouble sleeping.

May 2 — 12:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Puget Island Fire Department aided a Puget Island resident who was having a seizure.
