Comments on proposed names in Brookfield area solicited by WA Committee of Geographic Names

September 1, 2016

The Washington State Committee on Geographic Names is looking for opinions on the recent proposal to change the names of Jim Crow Hill, Jim Crow Creek, and Jim Crow Point.

Joe Budnick, who lived in the Brookfield area, suggested that Jim Crow Creek be changed to Harlows Creek; Jim Crow Hill would become Beare Hill; and Jim Crow Point take on the name of Brookfield Point.

“Because local opinion is very important to the committee,” Caleb Maki, the executive secretary for the committee said, “we would like your opinion regarding this proposal.”
