St. Paddy's Parade on Friday at noon

There are three factors that make the Cathlamet St. Patrick's Day parade unique. First is that it is always held on the real St Patrick's Day, instead of some convenient nearby weekend. Second, it is a sidewalk parade rather than a street parade, and, third, there are usually many more Irish wolfhounds than in either Portland or Seattle's parade.

This year the parade group will muster on Friday (tomorrow) at noon on the sidewalk across the street from Bank of the Pacific. The parade will amble down the east side of Main Street and back up the west side. The wolfies insist on pausing to be petted by all the kids, and take a long pause in front of the courthouse for a photo op. Everyone is invited to march, including Irish, friends of the Irish, and doggie friends of the Irish Wolfhounds. Wearin' o' the green is encouraged but not mandatory.

After the parade, the group will re-convene in Grays River at Duffy's Irish Pub where the marchers enjoy Irish fare, and the wolfhounds generally get another photo op with the band.
