Carol Ervest, a long time volunteer for the 4-H sponsored fun run, enjoyed the Saturday morning sunshine. It was still too early for runners to cross the finish line, but she had her time clock ready.
The walkers headed east on Brooks Slough Road, while the 10K runners turned south onto to Steamboat Slough Road.
John C. Thomas middle school students coordinated with their teacher Carrie Badger to wear hand decorated, brightly colored t-shirts and participate in this year's Great White Tail Run.
