Liz Beutler and Sherill Bollen prepared root beer floats for firefighters, law enforcement personnel, and friends at Tuesday's National Night Out event at the Puget Island Fire Department. Annie Howell, a volunteer for the fire department and daughter of Undersheriff Gary Howell, was the prime mover for this particular event. She and the PI Fire Chief Mike Beutler agreed it was a good opportunity for both departments to spend some time together, build relationships, and have some fun.
