Wahkiakum High School participated in the United Way Day of Caring last week. "We participated with Cowlitz county and then came back to Wahkiakum to share the love of literacy with the grade school," said Principal Stephanie Leitz. "The Georgia Pacific mill at Wauna supported the event by giving each child in the grade school a gift bag. Gift bags contained two boxes of facial tissues, a small pencil bag and two pencils, all promoting reading." The older students also took time to read stories to the younger students.
