Covered Bridge dinner was a fantastic evening

The 10th Annual Covered Bridge Dinner was just as phenomenal as I remembered it. I had not attended for the last five years due to caring for my husband. The cooks, the music, the setup crews, the donors of the auction items, our illustrious auctioneer, Sheriff Howie, the bidders and the diners and especially the reason we were all there--our kids in 4-H and their programs, everything was perfect. Even the weather was very pleasant. Thank you, everyone for an amazing evening of great music, delicious food and wonderful company. See you next year.

Here we go again, another blood drive coming up on November 9 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. With the holidays coming, let’s not forget there are folks out there that need us in order to be with their families during the festive days. We can help some of them with the gift of our life-giving blood. With all the chaos going on in our world, now is the time to step and give a hand up for our fellow citizens. I’m making my appointment, will you? For an appointment, call Susan Burkhalter at 465-2264 or online at http://www.redcrossblood.org using support code:ValleyBibleChurch.

I understand it is the end of gardening season, but many of you still have an abundance of veggies. Don’t let them go to waste. Donate them to our West End Food Pantry. Fresh fruits and vegetables are always needed. The Pantry is open on Thursdays, 1-5 p.m. and are always in need of non perishable items to replenish their shelves. Cash donations as well are appreciated and are used to supplement items they do not have on hand. For more info please contact Shonda Ware.

Happy Birthday to Cliff Kilponen, Shawn Matthews, Mary Smith and Braiden Eugene Chandler.
