Coming Events--Community Center in Cathlamet

January 25, 2018

In reference to last week’s letter to the editor from George Wehrfritz, I wanted to take this opportunity to express that The Community Center supports creating and sustaining a community of inclusion. We respect and value the unique contributions and perspectives of all members of our community. We provide social services and programs to empower individuals and promote community respect. If, for any reason, you feel as though this is not what you are receiving from us please stop in and we can talk. We want everyone to feel comfortable when they walk through our doors.

We are still recruiting volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to gain experience in a variety of roles that you can put on your resume. Come on in when you have a moment and see how you can help us out. We have short and long term volunteering roles that will fit your schedule and your talents.

The food drive continues through the end of January. We have a box in the Community Center that could use a few more donated items. We will deliver it to our local food banks at the end of the month.

This Friday’s movie is Rated PG-13. This 2014 film is a story about a single mother that moves into a new home in Brooklyn with her 12-year old son. She is forced to work long hours and has no choice but to leave Oliver in the care of their new neighbor, Vincent, a retired curmudgeon with a penchant for alcohol and gambling. The movie starts at 7:00 p.m., and popcorn is free. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks.
