J.A. Wendt Literacy Night

Last Thursday, students from J.A. Wendt Elementary School, along with family members, teachers, and staff, packed the multipurpose room for Literacy Night. A camping theme was used to promote the event and outside, volunteers were serving hot dogs, s'mores, and more. Inside, the energy was high. In one corner kids played a version of the cake walk while a volunteer read a story. Tents were set up so little ones could sit and listen as an adult read to them. Activities were available at tables set up around the room, including bookmark making, word games, and more. Photos by Diana Zimmerman.
