Sheriff's Report, April 19, 2018

 

April 19, 2018



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 9 — 10:06 a.m. A caller reported seeing a suspicious person in the garden on a property in the Elochoman Valley. 11:37 a.m. A driver was cited for speed in Cathlamet. 12:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded when a caller reported that an adult male may have suffered a heart attack at the grade school in Cathlamet. 2:04 p.m. A man was taken into custody after violating a protection order. 2:29 p.m. Someone backed into a pole on a property in the Rosedale area and caused damage.

April 10 — 5:33 p.m. A welfare check was requested at a Grays River home after a woman had fallen. The caller was concerned because the husband was acting aggressively, possibly due to dementia. He also had a concealed pistol license. A deputy, two state patrol officers, and two agents from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife responded. The woman denied any physical abuse and refused an ambulance. 6:33 p.m. A Cathlamet resident found some things were out of order in her home when she returned from an appointment. A deputy stopped by to secure the home at her request.


April 11 — 1:18 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that someone had tapped on her daughter’s window. Moments later she heard a voice outside. 2:39 p.m. A travel trailer was repossessed at an Elochoman Valley address. 4:22 p.m. A caller reported that her son had received a threat.

April 12 — 7:50 a.m. A card was found in the ATM at a bank in Cathlamet. A message was left for the owner. 9:40 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 4:40 p.m. A caller reported an injured deer on the side of SR 4 just east of Little Cape Horn. 5:29 p.m. A Longview agency asked for help contacting a potential victim of identity theft. 6:30 p.m. A woman who had been the subject of an earlier welfare check in Grays River was reported to be “not with it” and vomiting earlier in the day. A deputy and the Grays River ambulance responded. 8:53 p.m. A caller reported that he believed the woman with whom he was ending a relationship had tried to run him off the road. 9:04 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported an abandoned vehicle on his property.


April 13 — 11:45 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient to the hospital. The patient complained of weakness and had been vomiting for several days. 6:10 p.m. A Puget Island resident was concerned about a short in her home’s electrical system because of a flickering garage light.

April 14 — 5:33 p.m. A caller reported that someone had driven through the road block on Elochoman Valley Road. Two deputies responded to look for the car. They found the person on a logging road and advised him of the road closure due to a possible slide. 6:53 p.m. A caller reported that a calf was stranded and in the water in the Rosburg area. 9:24 p.m. High water was reported on several roads in Grays River, including Covered Bridge Road, North and South Satterlund Roads, Loop Road and Barr Road.

April 15 — 11:10 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported two aggressive dogs on her property. A deputy responded and could not locate the dogs. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported that a ship appeared to be taking on water near County Line Park. The Coast Guard was notified. A deputy responded. It was a dredge and it was operating normally.
