Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

May 8 — 10:34 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who needed assistance after a fall. 1:34 p.m. A caller reported that three dogs had been left in a parked car for more than an hour at a Cathlamet park. 3:44 p.m. A loose dog was found on Puget Island. 5:34 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that she had been threatened on social media. A deputy investigated and decided the complaint was unfounded. 6:00 p.m. A caller asked that his motorhome not be towed after it broke down in the Flandersville area. He said he would be back in the morning to fix the vehicle.

May 9 — 6:54 a.m. A caller reported seeing smoke rising from underneath a bridge in the Elochoman Valley and was concerned that someone was camping there. 7:35 a.m. A caller said that a fuse had been blown on a Puget Island power pole. The PUD responded and restored power to the area. 8:11 a.m. A caller reported that he had allowed a person he met through social media to borrow his egg incubator, which she then turned around and sold. He contacted the third party who returned the item to him. He said he had been falsely accused of threatening the woman who had stolen the item. 1:41 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and the Puget Island Fire Department responded to the report of a burn pile that was smoldering at a construction site on Puget Island. 2:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident. 2:52 p.m. Two residents of an Elochoman Valley home were reported missing. One was a juvenile. They were last seen in Longview. 3:31 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island home. A deputy checked the residence and found it secure. 3:56 p.m. A wallet was found in the mail and dropped off at the sheriff’s office. 4:04 p.m. The sheriff’s office was notified of a possibly dangerous subject headed east from Pacific County. The alert was canceled after the man turned himself in. 10:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cape Horn resident with chest pain.

May 10 — 2:53 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who was was reported to be having a heart attack. The individual refused transport. 10:33 a.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop just west of County Line Park.

May 11 — 10:44 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that two of his electronic car keys were missing, possibly stolen. They were later located. 11:25 a.m. A deputy was asked to accompany a representative from the Department of Corrections to a home in Grays River. 1:50 p.m. A caller was concerned about a log truck that was swerving back forth in the westbound lane of SR 4 near Nassa Point. 4:48 p.m. A driver was cited for speed near County Line Park. 9:32 p.m. A driver was cited for speed and for not having insurance in Grays River. 10:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen.

May 12 — 2:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Skamokawa resident. 2:44 p.m. A caller reported a large truck that wasn’t paying attention to pedestrians and animals on a Puget Island road. 6:12 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale address. A deputy investigated. 7:10 p.m. An individual was taken into custody and a motorcycle was towed after a vehicle stop near County Line Park.

May 13 — 3:19 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident after a possible domestic disturbance. 3:35 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle stop in Cathlamet. 6:22 p.m. An Alger Creek resident reported that a restraining order had been violated. 9:58 p.m. A resident of the trailer park asked for assistance when he could not exit his home. He believed someone may have glued his lock.
