September 4 — 5:34 a.m. A dead elk was in the eastbound lane of SR 4 in the Rosburg area. 9:13 a.m. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle in Skamokawa. 10:48 a.m. A woman was behaving strangely and frightening her neighbors in the Rosedale area. 11:02 a.m. An individual was taken into custody after cursing at customers at a Cathlamet business. 11:12 a.m. A protection order was violated. 12:24 p.m. A canoe was allegedly stolen from the beach at Vista Park. 3:34 p.m. A deputy accompanied a representative from the mental health department who was delivering paperwork to a Rosedale home. 3:43 p.m. A child in Rosedale reported that a “bad guy” was in his home. 4:44 p.m. A caller reported a rank smell coming from a trailer on an east county property. 5:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance was asked to transport a clinic patient with respiratory issues to the hospital. The patient refused transport. 9:22 p.m. A deputy responded when the mental health department reported getting a call from a Cathlamet home where a juvenile was threatening to harm herself.

September 5 — 10:13 a.m. A juvenile ran away when a case worker arrived at a Cathlamet school to pick him up. The case worker said she would apply for a warrant. 10:24 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that a utility trailer had been stolen. The resident called back later to say it had been borrowed by a family member. 7:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident with respiratory problems. 8:46 p.m. A caller reported that a trailer was being towed without taillights. 10:13 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a driver had struck his fence.

September 6 — 12:31 p.m. A Deep River resident had concerns about custody issues. 1:04 p.m. A Skamokawa resident complained about robocalls. 1:41 p.m. A protection order was violated. 3:08 p.m. A Cathlamet resident was concerned that neighbors might cause disruptions at her business while she was out of town. 5:06 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and the District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a brush fire in a log yard along SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 6:51 p.m. Several horses were loose and on a Skamokawa road. The caller believed the animals were mistreated. 7:35 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Deep River home. 10:31 p.m. A caller reported that someone had shot at him while he was looking for his dog in the Deep River area.

September 7 — 2:00 a.m. A cow was loose and on an Elochoman Valley road. 10:17 a.m. A kayak was allegedly stolen from a dock in Skamokawa. It was later found at Hornstra Beach. 3:39 p.m. A caller reported that a box of valuables and important documents was missing from her home in Skamokawa. 5:25 p.m. A cow was loose and on an Elochoman Valley road. 5:57 p.m. A driver was speeding on a Deep River road. 6:27 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a youth staying in Rosburg. 7:27 p.m. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded when a Cathlamet resident complained of chest pains. 7:51 p.m. A caller reported that a westbound driver on SR 4 was repeatedly crossing the center line, nearly striking oncoming traffic.

September 8 — 12:28 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident. 6:29 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained about a continuing problem with his neighbor’s bull, who had gotten into his pasture and mated with his cows on more than one occasion. The caller said he’d had to have calves aborted. The owner of the bull contacted the sheriff’s office and said that he was trying to figure out how to keep his bull in his pasture and that he and the complainant were working it out. 6:45 p.m. An erratic driver was headed west on SR 4 near County Line Park. 8:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen and had a possible broken wrist.

September 9 — 2:21 a.m. A man crawled out of some bushes along SR 4 and asked a driver for a ride to Longview. When the driver said no, the man said to contact the authorities. The driver believed the man had been drinking. 1:46 p.m. A driver was cited for operating a vehicle without a license. 5:16 p.m. Callers complained that someone was burning boat parts near their homes in Cathlamet. 5:26 p.m. A caller found a vehicle that had run into a tree on a Rosburg road. 7:36 p.m. A caller reported several vehicles speeding on a Deep River road. 11:09 p.m. A caller reported a loud party at a Cathlamet home.

September 10 — 6:06 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded when a caller reported that a tree had fallen on a power line along SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. The PUD was notified.
