October 25, 2018



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 15 — 10:43 a.m. A woman was screaming and causing a scene at the post office in Cathlamet. 11:32 a.m. An alarm was activated at a business in Skamokawa. 11:57 a.m. A deceased deer was found at the boat launch on Puget Island. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 2:15 p.m. A caller reported a driver speeding on a Deep River road. 8:44 p.m. The Skamokawa ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had fallen. The individual refused transport to the hospital. 9:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was having trouble breathing.

October 16 — 10:51 a.m. A deputy accompanied a representative from Adult Protective Services to an Elochoman Valley home. 12:05 p.m. Two men in a white SUV were seen going through a mail box on Messinger Hill Road. 12:51 p.m. Theft from a mail box was reported on Messinger Hill Road. 5:36 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a confused Puget Island resident. 6:24 p.m. A caller reported that he had been threatened by someone on the phone.

October 17 — 9:12 a.m. A welfare check was requested for an individual in Cathlamet. 3:23 p.m. A shoplifter was caught on camera at a Cathlamet business. 3:38 p.m. A suspicious vehicle was seen on Greenwood Road. When confronted the couple in the car said they were waiting for their daughter. 6:04 p.m. A deceased deer was found in the Elochoman Valley with its head and internal organs removed. The landowner had not given anyone permission to hunt on his property. 6:38 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a child had been molested by a family member. 8:27 p.m. A caller reported that an individual who had been caught shoplifting at a Cathlamet business had returned.

October 18 — 11:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with bad back pain. 2:21 p.m. An individual was advised to speak to an attorney after her ex-husband threatened to kick her and the kids out of a home she had resided in since the divorce. 8:14 p.m. An individual was trespassed from a Cathlamet business. 10:12 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after an assault during a domestic disturbance at a Rosburg home. 11:18 p.m. Several callers reported hearing an explosion in the Rosedale area. 11:34 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired. A deputy and state patrol responded and a box of fireworks and the people responsible were found.

October 19 — 6:15 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a suspicious man asking for jumper cables.

October 20 — 7:09 a.m. A boy who did not speak English was found alone on Elochoman Valley Road. Child Protective Services was notified. 10:15 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that someone had trespassed on his property on October 16. 11:22 a.m. A Cathlamet resident asked for assistance after getting locked out of her home. 6:50 p.m. A caller requested a deputy to standby while she got some of her belongings out of a Rosburg home. 9:24 p.m. State patrol had an individual in custody in Deep River. 9:40 p.m. The Grays River ambulance was asked to respond to a scene in Deep River where state patrol had taken someone into custody.

October 21 — 10:06 a.m. An equipment shed was found open at a Cathlamet school. 12:22 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the report of a brush fire in Deep River. 2:52 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop. 4:21 p.m. A caller had information about an alleged drug dealer. 6:05 p.m. An individual was seen videoing cars and homes on a Cathlamet street. 7:25 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was having a seizure. 10:22 p.m. A caller reported a dispute regarding the purchase of a trailer at County Line Park.
