LCC announces play dates

True West by Pulitzer Prize winning author Sam Shepard, opens at LCC Drama Department, Center Stage Theater on November 9. This explosive comedy of rivalry begins as Austin, an aspiring screenwriter on the verge of Hollywood success, is holed up in his mother’s LA home. His brother Lee, a petty thief fresh from the Mojave Desert, arrives unexpectedly. When Lee strikes a movie deal, the brothers’ roles as successful family man and wandering thief are reversed. Fueled by memories of a drunken father, buried family scars erupt as the brothers try to sell Hollywood their version of the great American West. True West plays November 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 at 7:30 p.m., and November 11 at 2:00 p.m. There is a special 11 a.m. performance on Friday, November 16. General Admission is $10; all students are free.
