The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

This year we have made some changes to the line up of events and to the prizes. This year there will be five shows in the series. You must ride in four out of five shows to qualify for the top prize for your age group/division.

Show dates for this year are: May 11, June 15, July 13, August 17 and the final show will be September 14.

This year we will be presenting two silver buckles, for series high point. They will be awarded to the winner of the 12-18 year old division, and to the 19-35 year old division. These buckles were donated by Corrine and Troy Slobig.

Yet to be determined are the series high point prizes for Pee Wee's and the other two age groups, 36 year old and older and novice.

Line up of events has also been changed. This year we will be starting with Texas Barrels. The order will then go Cat's Cradle, Speed Barrels, Key Hole, Figure 8, and Pole Bending.

We are still charging $30 for the day, (all six events). If you only want to ride Texas Barrels, it will be $10. We are also offering Time Only, it's a good warm up for your horse. It is per event. You pay $3 per ticket or three for $5. This is just a warm up before you ride for series time. This is optional.

As with past years, the Wahkiakum Horse Gaming Series is put on by volunteers. All money raised goes to the fair. We do this to improve and maintain the arena and horse barn.

Lunches will be available for purchase at all shows.

Come out and ride. If you don't ride, come out and support the riders. It is a fun time for all. We are looking forward to a great season.
