Rosburg News

For those who have attended or are planning to attend the Naselle/Grays River Valley senior luncheon on Wednesday, I would like to clarify a few things. First of all, those who are 55 and older can join, not 60 as stated before; also the potluck will be at the Valley Bible Church on every fourth Wednesday.

Anyone interested in renting the Rosburg Hall is encouraged to contact Sonja Kruse at 465-2251 or Barbara Rose at 465-2251.

Naselle News

The Naselle Congregational Church is no more. The memories of another era are all that remain of a once prosperous church. Thanks to the generosity of the congregation, the building is now in the hands of the Finnish-American Folk Festival of Naselle. The building will be called Naselle Community Center. Their first concert is scheduled for February 16 at 5 p.m. with snacks following. Performing artists include Lydia Ballif, piano; Carl Wirkkala, country musician; Richard Ellis, vocalist; Kim Angelis, violinist and Gene Quilhaugh, folk singer and guitarist. The Naselle Timberland Library is located at 4 Parpala Rd, Naselle. Play Group is held every Tuesday at noon through March 26 for children birth to six years of age with a participating adult. On the first Friday of every month until June 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., children of all ages can make amazing Lego constructions, and display them at the library. All designs will be on display for one week after the program. On the first Saturday of every month, join in for the Family Movie Matinee at 1 p.m. They will provide the popcorn; you bring a pillow to sit on. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. On February 13, Light Up Love is on the itinerary. Drop in at any time to make your own Love card with LEDs, copper tape, and watch batteries. February 9 is Valentine Open Studio from 1-3 p.m. for all ages. Drop in at any time and create a wonderful valentine card for the one you love. You do not need to bring anything but yourselves because all materials are provided.

Naselle-Grays River Valley Schools

On Saturday, Naselle High School girls and boys basketballs start district tournament competition against opponents yet to be determined. Games will be at Ilwaco High School, girls at 3 p.m. and boys at 4:30 p.m. The high school Knowledge Bowl will compete in a regional tournament at Tumwater. departing Naselle at 6 a.m .; and Feb. 13 middle school boys basketball at Willapa Valley at 5:45 p.m. and final day of high school district basketball for boys and possibly for girls depending on results, time and location to be announced.
