Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 11 — 12:25 a.m. An individual was taken into custody after a domestic disturbance at a Puget Island home. 10:21 a.m. A burglary was reported at an office west of Cathlamet. A gate was damaged and batteries and fuel were taken. 11:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident complaining of shortness of breath. 12:20 p.m. A deputy was asked to assist the Department of Corrections when they contacted a Rosedale resident. 1:45 p.m. A caller reported that a paddle boat had been stolen from the marina. 2:06 p.m. A vehicle parked overnight in Skamokawa was stolen. 3:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 3:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 5:47 p.m. An alarm was activated at an office west of Cathlamet. 5:56 p.m. The PUD responded to a county wide power outage. Power was restored at 8:12 p.m. 7:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident who thought he might have the measles. 7:40 p.m. An alarm was activated at an office west of Cathlamet. 10:16 p.m. An individual parked at Nassa Point was requesting assistance with a flat tire.

February 12 — 2:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident complaining of abdominal pain. 5:48 a.m. A caller reported a landslide on SR 4 east of Cathlamet. The Washington Department of Transportation was on scene. 8:27 a.m. A deputy was requested for a civil standby at an Elochoman Valley home. 8:29 a.m. A greenhouse, travel trailer and truck were vandalized at a Rosedale home. A dog kennel was found open. 10:16 a.m. A mailbox was vandalized in the Elochoman Valley. 2:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual in Cathlamet who was having trouble breathing. 5:29 p.m. A driver left his vehicle on KM overnight due to weather. When he returned the next day to retrieve it, two of the windows had been broken out and several items were missing. 5:39 p.m. A deputy was requested for a civil standby at a Puget Island home. 7:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale individual with pain in her chest, jaw, and left arm.

February 13 — 8:39 a.m. A caller reported that log trucks were speeding on a Deep River road. 11:34 a.m. A burglary was reported at a Skamokawa address. 12:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a clinic patient complaining of chest pain. 1:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual in Cathlamet with respiratory issues. 2:46 p.m. Abuse was reported at an East Valley home. A deputy responded and found no evidence of abuse. 3 p.m. A caller reported that a dog had attacked his two dogs while he was walking them on a Puget Island road. The owner of the dog said he would keep it on a leash; it was young and still in training. 3:21 p.m. A welfare check was requested for an Elochoman Valley resident. 6:45 p.m. A driver struck a deer on a Puget Island road.

February 14 — 1:03 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported hearing three loud explosions. 1:18 a.m. An individual had gone outside and fired some rounds with a shot gun after a domestic disturbance at a Skamokawa home. Deputies were unable to locate the man, and the woman and her children were removed from the home for the night. 2:14 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with low blood sugar. 10:38 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident. 11:16 a.m. A stolen vehicle was found. 11:32 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident. 11:35 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had gotten stuck while a driver was trespassing on a Grays River property. 5:37 p.m. A Grays River resident reported suspicious vehicles in her driveway. She asked for extra patrols in the area if she was not home.

February 15 — 8:45 a.m. A caller reported that log trucks were speeding on a Deep River road. 11:37 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked on Main Street in Cathlamet for a month. 8:45 p.m. A burglary was reported at a Rosburg home.

February 16 — 4:25 p.m. A Puget Island resident was concerned about an unknown pit bull that was on her property and would not leave. 4:45 p.m. A caller was concerned about three men who appeared to be hunting in the Skamokawa area. A deputy spoke with the men about hunting rules and regulations. 6:41 p.m. A caller reported two suspicious men at a vacant Cathlamet business. 7 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported at an Elochoman Valley home. 11:13 p.m. A caller reported that two vehicles and several quads had been cruising up and down a Beaver Creek road for hours. Several people were talking loudly and playing music at a high volume.

February 17 — 4:50 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having labor pains. 7:31 a.m. A caller reported that a boat was drifting in the Columbia River near Puget Island. The Coast Guard was notified. 1:48 p.m. A caller reported that vehicles were speeding in the Skamokawa area. 4:58 p.m. A Deep River resident allegedly struck a neighbor’s dog on purpose with his vehicle. The neighbor had been traveling slowly, the caller said, but moved to the side of the road where the dog was and sped up before hitting it. The driver’s wife was laughing, the caller said. The caller did not want to press charges, but wanted the driver to pay the veterinarian bill. 5:53 p.m. A caller reported that kids were racing vehicles side by side on East Valley road. Deputies spoke to a father who denied that it was his kid. Deputies will be increasing patrols in the area.
