Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 18 — 12:41 a.m. A caller reported that her dog had been attacked by a neighbor’s dogs on Puget Island. 1:45 p.m. A deputy and the Grays River ambulance responded to a Rosburg home to aid someone with a broken tooth after an alleged assault. Further conversation clarified that there had been some miscommunication and that there had been no assault. 9:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 11:06 p.m. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island home to aid a resident who was unconscious.

February 19 — 1:27 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported hearing an explosion. 11:28 a.m. A former employee was causing a disturbance at an Elochoman Valley business. 4:58 p.m. A bag containing drugs was found inside a Rosedale business. 9 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident with respiratory issues.

February 20 — 7:38 a.m. Cows were loose in the Elochoman Valley. 8:55 a.m. A caller reported a dead animal on the Puget Island bridge. 11:20 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosburg residence. A deputy responded and found everything secure. 12:06 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked on the side of the road on KM for a couple hours with hazard lights flashing. A deputy responded and was unable to locate the vehicle. 3:55 p.m. An alarm was activated at an office in the courthouse in Cathlamet. 3:55 p.m. A deputy, the District 4 Fire Department, and the Cathlamet ambulance responded when a vehicle containing three people flipped on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 4 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that an unwanted person was at her residence. 4:11 p.m. A caller reported that a motor home had stopped sideways on Elochoman Valley Road. 4:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an inebriated Cathlamet resident who was complaining about back pain. 7:47 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity at the fire station in the Elochoman Valley. 8:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Cathlamet resident to the hospital. 10:35 p.m. An individual was trespassed from a restaurant in Cathlamet. 11:18 p.m. An individual with a warrant was taken into custody.

February 21 — 3:32 a.m. A caller reported that SR 4 was a sheet of ice east of Cathlamet. 7:38 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a neighbor’s pit bull was trying to jump the fence to get to her dog. 9:02 a.m. A caller reported that log trucks were speeding on a Deep River road. 12:12 p.m. Two travel trailers had been stolen some time during the last year from a property on Puget Island. 2:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient who was dizzy and vomiting to the hospital. 3:06 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a missing juvenile. 3:28 p.m. A caller reported that a neighbor’s dog was potentially dangerous and loose in the Rosedale area. 3:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had fallen and may have broken a bone.

February 22 — 7:42 a.m. A caller reported that log trucks were speeding on a Deep River road. 2:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who may have suffered a stroke. 2:20 p.m. An Alger Creek resident reported that someone had blocked his driveway. 5:10 p.m. A caller reported a reckless driver on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area.

February 23 — 8:03 a.m. A caller reported that cows were loose in the Elochoman Valley. The owner was contacted. 3:59 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident with trail cameras found evidence of trespassers on his property. 4:53 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 6:07 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a suspicious man was going door to door asking for money. 6:37 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that an individual was missing and that he was behaving strangely. He heard that the individual had been going door to door in the neighborhood. They were looking for him, but so far couldn’t find him. The resident called back at 7:26 p.m. to say the individual had come home. 7:01 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident said that a neighbor had seen someone going through his mail. He checked his mail box and reported that nothing appeared to be missing. 8:19 p.m. A caller reported that a cow was loose in the Rosburg area. The owner was contacted. 8:55 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an ailing Grays River resident. 9:08 p.m. A deputy was asked to respond to a Rosedale home when an individual became combative during a visit from a mental health representative.

February 24 — 7:57 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident with low blood pressure. 12:56 p.m. A deputy responded to the report of a disabled vehicle in Grays River. An individual was taken into custody when investigation revealed that the plates did not match the vehicle and there was a warrant for the driver in Cowlitz County. 5:28 p.m. A caller reported finding a window broken on a building on KM. 10:35 p.m. An injured elk was euthanized after being struck by a vehicle on SR 4 in the Rosedale area.
