WSU Master Gardeners and the Community Garden are sponsoring a free Seed Exchange on the morning of Saturday, March 9 (10:00 a.m.) at the Community Center. Even if you do not have seeds to exchange you are welcome to come and get some seeds for the coming season. Master Gardeners and other experienced gardeners present are always happy to give advice. Displays to help you learn about bees, worms and other things will be there. Cookies and door prizes and good ideas are available. Also there is a display showing how to test your old seeds for their viability.

Our plastic hoop greenhouse has bit the dust once again. It’s just not strong enough to withstand temperature changes, wind, rain and snow. If anyone has a greenhouse they don’t want and won’t be using again and would like to donate it to the Community Garden, it would be appreciated. Our space is roughly 17’ x 25’. Any donated house would have to be sturdy, and preferably plastic siding. We could remove and transport it. Call Chris at (360) 795-0907.

In addition for you guys that like old stuff…

We have an antique (well, sort of old) rototiller we would like to give away. It’s big and heavy and runs if one knows how to do it. Contact Joyce at 360-430-3968 to take a look.

We, at the Community Garden, appreciate the support of our community. Our mandate is to help those who want or need gardening space to grow their own produce. In addition we supply local food banks with fresh, in season, produce. We do this at no charge.
