Coming Events--Community Center in Cathlamet

March 14, 2019

I am curious as to how many of you have a song that you can always turn to. Where, no matter what is going on in life, the first three seconds after clicking “play” change your cellular structure, a smile rips across your face and you can’t help but keep the beat? Music can be so many things. It can be warmth after a series of events that leave you feeling cold. Sometimes it is a light in the dark. Listening to music that resonates with your soul can be a game changer in the middle of a bad day. If you need someone to talk to because you are feeling alone, or need to celebrate a victory-and no one is around, I highly recommend some self-medication of a healthy dose of music. From Beethoven to Zeppelin, tune in to tune out, you are a musical creature, remember that.

Other than music, another very important aspect to life is vision. The Lions Club has set up an eye glass carousel at the community center for those who need to upgrade their specs. There will also be a drop off box here for hearing aids and old prescription glasses. If you are low income, you may meet eligibility requirements for new glasses and exam, free of charge.

Friday night movies are back in action, and the line-up is a great one. The March 29 movie is for everyone, so be sure to come with the family and enjoy some popcorn. Thanks for being you, Wahkiakum, have an exciting weekend.
