Goodroe and Blackburn appointed to AAADSW

Bernadette Goodroe of Cathlamet, and Pearl Blackburn of Rosburg were recently appointed to the Advisory Council of the Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington (AAADSW), representing Wahkiakum County. Ms. Goodroe is a former member of the Cathlamet Town Council. Ms. Blackburn is a current member of the Skamokawa Grange #425 and the Wahkiakum County Fair Board.

The Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington is a state-appointed public agency whose mission is to promote independence, choice, well-being, and dignity for persons aged 60 and over, adults with disabilities, and their families through a comprehensive, coordinated system of home and community-based services. The agency’s advisory council is made up of six members from Clark County and three members from each of the other four counties it serves.

Ms. Goodroe states her goal as a member of AAADSW’s Advisory Council is to “enhance and improve services to older members of our population.”

Among her many interests in the needs of seniors, Ms.Blackburn is eager to focus on additional services to veterans.

The Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington is a multi-service public agency providing assistance to the elderly and disabled of Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Skamania and Wahkiakum counties.
