The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Auditions will be held June 2

The Astor Street Opry Company has announced auditions for Junior Shanghaied “A Night at the Olios!” Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m. These performances feature a dozen ASOC Youth Performers ages 8 to 17. Auditions will be held at the ASOC Playhouse, 129 W. Bond Street in Uniontown, Astoria.

Directed by Ashley Mundel with Music Direction by ChrisLynn Taylor, ASOC Junior Shanghaied “A Night at the Olio’s” is an old ASOC tradition of song, dance and comedy, all in traditional American musical hall theatre style, with young performers.

The ASOC has a very successful annual winter Youth Theatre program, but has been seeking more opportunities for youth to perform and grow.

All acts and performances will be appropriate for families and children. No experience or preparation necessary.

The short rehearsal schedule will be mostly weekday afternoons and a few weekends beginning June 4, with a dress rehearsal on Friday June 28 and performances on Saturday June 29 at 7 p.m., and Sunday June 30 at 2 p.m.

Parental involvement is encouraged and ASOC is also seeking sponsors (cash and in-kind) for this two performance show. If interested, contact Dena @
