The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has announced changes to the daily limit for salmon on a section of the Columbia River.

This change corrects the daily limit for salmon on a section of the Columbia River from Rocky Point/Tongue Point upstream to West Puget Island as listed in the 2019-20 Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet. This change is effective Aug. 1 through Aug. 20, 2019.

As part of the joint state fishery plan established through the North of Falcon process, the daily limit for this section was agreed to be six fish; up to one adult salmon may be retained.

Anglers fishing in this section of the Columbia River on these dates must release all salmon and steelhead other than Chinook and hatchery coho.

Beginning Aug. 21, the Columbia River fall seasons and daily limits listed in the 2019-2020 Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet are correct and consistent with regulations and joint state plans.
