All are welcome to try out for the annual holiday production, "Scrooged in Astoria," at the Astor Street Opry Company Playhouse at 129 W. Bond Street in Uniontown, Astoria. No experience necessary.

Open auditions will be held Sat. Oct. 12, noon and 6 p.m., and Sun. Oct 13, 6 p.m.

They are looking for 21 characters (9 Male, 12 Female) Ages 9 to 90.

Rehearsals Start Oct. 14 and run six weeks to opening night. The show runs the first three weeks in December.

Stylized as a 1960’s style Holiday TV special, is loosely based on the “Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, but with characters straight out of the ASOC long running summer melodrama “Shanghaied in Astoria.” This show even has singing commercials written by ChrisLynn Taylor.

Scrooged In Astoria runs December 6-22 on Friday and Saturday nights with three 2 p.m. Sunday matinees on December 8, 15 and 22.
