Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 21 – 1:47 p.m. A caller reported that an individual had been sexually assaulted. 2:01 p.m. A deputy advised the owner of a truck and trailer parked at Hornstra Beach that he had two days to get off the property. 2:10 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was sitting in the middle of SR 4. 10:17 p.m. A caller asked for advice regarding a protection order he had just received that required him to stay away from a child that was currently in his custody. He took the child to the Battle Ground Police Station so the petitioner could pick him up there.

October 22 – 7:41 a.m. A caller reported a speeder on a Grays River road. 10:19 a.m. A caller reported that someone had left a bunch of junk in a county right-of-way in the Grays River area. 11:09 a.m. A caller reported that checks had been stolen and used. 11:38 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a person at the marina in Cathlamet. 2:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with an ulcer on his foot. 2:56 p.m. A caller reported that a man was threatening people at a park in Cathlamet.

October 23 – 9:32 a.m. A caller reported that checks had been stolen and used. 1:51 p.m. A caller reported that his landlord was tossing some of his belongings on to the road and keeping other things. A deputy spoke with the caller and tried to contact the landlord. 3:54 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 in the Stella area. State patrol was notified. 4:06 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver that was littering and heading west on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 7:31 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had fallen. 9:24 p.m. A caller reported an accident on Puget Island involving a possible drunk driver. An individual was taken into custody.

October 24 --10:07 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa business. A deputy responded and found a door unlocked and the building empty. A responsible party was contacted. 11:54 p.m. A Rosedale resident asked for a deputy after finding items in her carport that she believed were put there to lead to her eviction. 1:11 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an unconscious Grays River resident. 1:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. 5:46 p.m. A caller reported that children were throwing rocks onto a Cathlamet street. 7:27 p.m. A caller reported that a deer had been injured after being struck by a car on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area.

October 25 – 6:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having respiratory issues. 9:47 a.m. A Deep River resident reported that his landlord had the PUD shut off power to his home in an effort to evict him. A deputy advised the renter of his rights and advised him that the matter was a civil issue. 11:33 a.m. A caller reported an illegal burn in Skamokawa. 11:37 a.m. A caller reported that an unknown alarm had been activated in Cathlamet. The Cathlamet Public Works department was notified. 11:58 a.m. A Little Cape Horn resident reported that a garbage can had been stolen. He said it was the second time it had happened in the last month. 12:56 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that he was being harassed. 1:01 p.m. A caller reported that “someone did something disturbing” in a Cathlamet park the day before. The caller said she had pictures. 6:19 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on SR 4 near County Line Park. 8:42 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that he was being harassed by his landlord, who had shut off his water and power and gotten a restraining order. A deputy advised him.

October 26 – 4:58 a.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet residence after a caller reported finding an unresponsive individual.1:26 p.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet Fire Department, and the Skamokawa ambulance responded when a caller reported that a car was on a precipice at Redmen Hall. At 1:35 p.m., the car was reported to be safe. 6:16 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded when a caller reported that trash cans were on fire at a Cathlamet home. 6:55 p.m. A caller reported that there would be no more ferry runs that night after a barge ran aground at Westport. 9:41 p.m. A caller reported that two men were trying to start fights at a restaurant in Skamokawa.

October 27 – 6:53 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident with a nose bleed. 8:02 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident with chest and stomach pain. 12:19 p.m. A caller was concerned that a grandchild in California was not being cared for properly. 12:59 p.m. An individual was taken into custody following a vehicle stop. 11:35 p.m. Deputies and the District 4 Fire Department responded to a Rosedale home after a caller reported the smell of smoke. No flames or smoke were visible.
