The Wahkiakum County Sheriff's Office received a $2,500 Grant that Walmart contributed towards the department's Shop With A Cop Program this year. Sheriff Mark Howie, above, right, said Emergency Management Director Beau Renfro, through his business Island Live Pearls, is going to also contribute money for the program so officers can take another 20 children or so shopping for Christmas gifts. If anyone wants to contribute, they can contact Howie at the office. Cash or Walmart gift cards are accepted, and the sheriff's office will provide a receipt for the donation. This year, officers and kids will go shopping on Dec. 7, and officers would welcome assistance in wrapping gifts that day; contact Raedyn Grasseth in the office for details. Courtesy photo.
