December 26, 2019

The Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments (CWCOG), as the Longview-Kelso-Rainier Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and lead agency for the Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO), invites the public to comment on Amendment No. 1 to the 2020 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP).

The UPWP is a federally required work program of how state and federal funds will be used by the CWCOG for regional transportation planning during a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). The work program is developed by CWCOG staff in cooperation with MPO/RTPO member agencies, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). It is reviewed by the Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, WSDOT, and ODOT before adoption by the CWCOG Board of Directors. The document must follow guidelines in state and federal regulations. The 2020 UPWP was adopted on May 23, 2019 and is available at http://www.cwcog.org.

The CWCOG is a multi-purpose association of governments that delivers a diverse array of federal, state, and local programs while fulfilling its primary function as a regional planning organization.
