Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 16 – 8:12 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident with respiratory issues. 11:04 a.m. Deputies, the Skamokawa Fire Department, state patrol, and the Skamokawa ambulance responded to a one vehicle accident on KM. 11:15 a.m. A Deep River resident reported a verbal dispute with her husband, who had agreed to move out. 11:50 a.m. A caller reported a possible abandoned vehicle on Beaver Creek Road. 2:32 p.m. A caller reported that a subject made threatening comments to one of her family members in court. 5:12 p.m. A Deep River resident asked a deputy to accompany her when she paid rent because she believed her landlord had threatened her. A deputy spoke to the caller’s daughter and explained that it was a civil issue and what the caller had described was not criminal. The caller retracted her request for a civil standby.

December 17 – 4:16 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the District 4 Fire Department responded to a Rosedale home to provide a lift assist for someone who had fallen. 11:36 a.m. The sheriff’s office received a referral to a Rosedale home from Adult Protective Services. 2:35 p.m. A Deep River resident reported being assaulted by two people. 7:22 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that a restraining order had been violated. 9:31 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had broken down on SR 4 near Nassa Point. The owner said he didn’t need a tow truck.

December 18 – 7:02 a.m. A restraining order was served at a Deep River home. 7:51 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who was slurring words. 8:26 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the District 4 Fire Department provided lift assistance to a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 10:32 a.m. A caller became concerned about the owner of an RV at the marina after a notice posted on his door had not been touched for nearly a month and no one had seen or heard from him. A deputy responded and after several attempts to make contact, entered the RV through an unlocked window. No one was there. 3:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with heart problems to the hospital. 6:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with chest pain to the hospital.

December 19 – 5:34 a.m. A caller reported that a boat had flashed a spot light at SR 4 near Nassa Point. The Coast Guard was notified. 5:54 a.m. A warrant was served at a Skamokawa home. 1:20 p.m. A caller reported that someone had been dumping trash on an Elochoman Valley road. 3:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who may have broken an arm in a fall. 5:57 p.m. A caller reported that a large tree branch was blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 near Nassa Point. State patrol was notified. 6:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 9:25 p.m. A caller reported that a tree was blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 on the east side of KM. State patrol was notified. 10:31 p.m. Several Rosedale residents reported a power outage. The PUD was notified and restored power at 11:34 p.m.

December 20 – 4:14 a.m. Power outages were reported in Deep River and Rosburg. The PUD was notified. 4:17 a.m. A caller reported that a tree and possibly a pole were down in Rosburg. State patrol and the PUD were notified. 4:20 a.m. A caller reported that a tree and power lines were down in the Rosburg area. The Grays River Fire Department responded. State patrol and the PUD were notified. 6:27 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance was called to aid an ailing Elochoman Valley resident. Dispatch learned that there was no medical need after speaking with the caller’s daughter and the ambulance was told to stand down. 7 a.m. Covered Bridge Road was closed due to high water. 8:20 a.m. A caller reported a mud slide on a Deep River road. 9:07 a.m. A caller was concerned after not hearing from his children in Cathlamet for several days. A welfare check was requested.

December 21 – 2:03 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that she had received strange texts and explicit and violent material. She was advised to contact the sheriff’s office if the messages continued, and a representative from mental health was notified. 2:03 a.m. A third party reported that someone had tried to run over another person with a vehicle in Rosedale. 11:18 a.m. A caller reported that a rock slide was blocking a portion of a Deep River road. The county road department was notified. They set up cones and decided to determine if the portion of the road was in Wahkiakum or Pacific County the following Monday. 1:51 p.m. An agency in Cowlitz County requested assistance from the sheriff’s office at an east Wahkiakum County home in regard to an unknown juvenile problem. 7:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had just received a heart monitor and was not feeling well. 9:25 p.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance, and a representative from the mental health department responded to a Beaver Creek home after someone reported that an individual with access to firearms was making suicidal statements.

December 22 – 7:50 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident who had an incision that would not stop bleeding after a recent surgery. 12:26 p.m. A caller reported that a restraining order may have been violated. 4:49 p.m. A caller reported that someone was hunting ducks in the dark on Puget Island. 10:08 p.m. State patrol requested assistance from the sheriff’s office regarding a stolen vehicle.
