Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 10 — 6:09 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Rosburg home when a caller reported that an individual was not breathing. 5:43 p.m. A burglar alarm was activated at a Deep River address. A deputy and state patrol responded and found everything closed and locked.

February 11 — 9:13 a.m. A caller from a Cathlamet school reported that a student was truant. A deputy spoke to the youth, who agreed to go to school. 10:52 a.m. A caller in Skamokawa reported that a protection order had been violated. 5:24 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at an Elochoman Valley home. She said that she had been pushed by her parents and that the family would not let her leave the home with her children. Deputies responded. 6:10 p.m. A caller reported that he was locked behind a Hancock gate. Dispatch contacted Hancock personnel, and an individual agreed to respond. A deputy responded as well. When they could not locate the individual, the phone call was traced to Grays Harbor County, and law enforcement in that county was notified. 6:20 p.m. A caller reported that an individual may have had a seizure at a Rosburg address. The Grays River ambulance stood down after the person left the premises and was headed east in a black vehicle. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. 7:07 p.m. A caller reported that an erratic driver heading west had stopped at a Cathlamet school and entered the building.

February 12 — 1:20 p.m. A caller reported that a truck and trailer had overturned on the east side of KM. A deputy, state patrol, and a commercial vehicle inspector responded. 4:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual with chest pain at a Cathlamet school.

February 13 — 12:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident with respiratory issues. 9:07 a.m. Child Protective Services reported that a child was being sexually abused at a Puget island home. 10:47 a.m. The Grays River ambulance and the Grays River Fire Department responded after an individual fell into a dumpster and hurt her back at the KM Transfer station. 12:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident with high blood pressure. 2:37 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a neighbor in Cathlamet who had not been seen for several days. 3:12 p.m. A caller was concerned that a dog walking down the highway on Puget Island might get hit. 4:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 5:48 p.m. A caller reported that a woman in a dark SUV had offered a ride to two of her children who were walking to school on February 3. According to the caller, the woman claimed to work at the school district, but the school had no record of the woman’s employment. She also said that she had felt harassed on February 11, when several people showed up at her Puget Island home to proselytize.

February 14 — 7:37 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the District 4 Fire Department responded to a Rosedale home to assist an individual who had fallen. 3:05 p.m. Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on SR 4 a mile east of Cathlamet. 5:04 p.m. A Rosedale resident asked for assistance in removing an unwanted individual from the home. 6:36 p.m. A Puget Island resident complained about two people sitting at the end of her driveway. She said they claimed to be Mormon missionaries. They left when a neighbor stopped by. 7:37 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that an individual who had been trespassed from his home had stolen his computer. 8:21 p.m. A burglar alarm was activated at a Puget Island home. A deputy responded and found everything secure. 8:59 p.m. A caller complained about noise at a neighboring Puget Island home.

February 15 — 9:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had lost consciousness. 10:34 a.m. A Rosedale resident called when someone refused to leave his home. The person left while he was on the phone with dispatch. 4:15 p.m. A Rosburg resident asked for assistance when her spouse, suffering from dementia, became angry because she would not give him the car keys. She was concerned that his anger could turn physical. Deputies responded. 6:15 p.m. A caller said his vehicle was on fire at Bradley Trails. Deputies, the District 4 Fire Department, and the Cathlamet Fire Department responded.

February 16 — 7:59 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that someone had parked an RV on his property. The owner of the RV was contacted. He said it was parked on an easement and would be moved in a few days. The property owner was notified. 10:30 a.m. A caller reported that cows were loose and near Elochoman Valley Road. 11:24 a.m. A caller notified the sheriff’s office that he was running a wilderness first aid class and that there would be people along the road in the Skamokawa area in make up for mock accident scenes. 11:28 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had rolled over and gone off the road about a mile east of Cathlamet. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance, and the District 4 Fire Department responded. 12:18 p.m. A burglar alarm was activated at a Skamokawa address. A responsible party was notified and was en route to turn off the alarm. 1:25 p.m. A power outage was reported at a Puget Island home. The PUD was notified. 5:47 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an east county resident with a nose bleed. The individual refused transport to the hospital. 9:36 p.m. A caller reported signs of forced entry at the Cathlamet Fire Hall. The caller said he had heard some noises but nothing appeared to be missing. Deputies responded. They did a building search and checked the trail leading to Strong Park.
