WFFN and WSU Extension to present farm roundtable

Wahkiakum Food and Farm Network and WSU Wahkiakum County Extension will present a farm roundtable on Thursday, March 26 at 3 p.m., on COVID-19 and emergency/contingency planning for your farm.

Local Puget Island farmer and epidemiologist, Dr. Mark Schmidt, will speak on his perspective on COVID-19 and its impact on his farm and community involvement. Mike Gaffney, emergency operations specialist and director of Extension, will present on Strategic Emergency Management Concerns and Continuity of Operations and Recovery planning. Dr. Susan Kerr, WSU Extension livestock specialist emerita and veterinarian, will speak on farm contingency planning, particularly related to livestock concerns.

Following will be a round table discussion on local coordination and resources. This meeting is offered via Zoom internet conferencing. The link to the Zoom conference is posted on the WSU Wahkiakum County Extension Facebook page, and on their website at Wahkiakum.wsu.edu.
