Cathlamet resident Ron Wright has received a letter from the Washington State Democrat Party notifying him that he has been elected to National Delegate for the Washington State Democrats.

"On behalf of Joseph R. Biden. You will be representing Joseph R. Biden at the DNC Convention, to be held August 17-20," the letter said.

Responsibilities of a national delegate include, but are not limited to, voting on the national platform and nominating the presidential candidate.

"It has still to be decided if there will be a virtual convention or an in person one," the letter said.

"The Wahkiakum County Democratic Party is delighted that one of us will be a national delegate!" said party spokesperson Deborah Lincoln.
